MGM to Launch Real-Money Online Casino and Poker system in nj-new jersey

MGM Resorts Overseas announced Wednesday it will launch an online casino and poker site into the New Jersey market beneath the playMGM brand.

As New Jersey’s online gambling market goes from strength to strength, MGM is set to introduce its playMGM real-money platform in the state later on this season.

The casino giant said it had entered into an agreement with UK-listed https://myfreepokies.com/21-dukes-casino/ GVC, that will offer the software for the platform. No time that is specific has been set for the launch, besides that it is due to occur ‘this year.’

It represents MGM’s first foray into real-money online gaming under a unique brand name, though, as owner of the Borgata, it has already been providing online casino and poker with GVC via theborgata.com.

MGM wasn’t a person in Atlantic City when New Jersey regulated and legalized online gambling in belated 2013.

Maryland Casinos Don’t Help Education as Promised, State Comptroller Says

Maryland casinos were authorized by voters in 2008 on the grounds that the tax that is generated from legalizing commercial gambling would be primarily used to fund education programs. But that promise, in accordance with state Comptroller Peter Franchot (D), isn’t being kept.

Fifty-eight percent of voters supported the ballot referendum in 2008 to amend their state’s constitution and legalize slot machines at five independently owned gaming venues. a further referendum passed in 2012 to incorporate a sixth facility, and allow table games at the casinos.

State Comptroller Peter Franchot says taxation revenue stemming from Maryland casinos isn’t being earmarked since the voter-approved 2008 referendum that is constitutional.

The ’08 amendment posed to residents explained a vote of support ‘authorizes the State to issue up to five movie lottery licenses for the primary purpose of raising revenue for education of children in public schools, prekindergarten through grade 12, public school construction and improvements, and construction of money projects at community colleges and higher education institutions.’

But approaching nine years since Marylanders backed gambling, Franchot says the scheme ‘was fundamentally a lie.’
